A graduate in the field of computer science, Iranian born Donny Maleknia came to this country thirty years ago. Donny started his professional career with AFCO as a computer programmer for five years before realizing that his true passion was fine jewelry and became a jewelry wholesaler. During his years as a wholesaler, Donny chose to offer his clients the best service and the finest quality gemstones. His dedication and expertise plus the desire to stay close to his family were rewarded by an offer to work for a local leading jewelry store. He accepted, and from 1991 to the store’s closing in 1999, Donny was able to build a steady, solid reputation as well as a growing customer following. Donny soon reached the top diamond consultant level among 400 nationwide stores within a three-year period. Through encouragement from his wife Fatemeh, Donny decided to go into business and today, after more than nine years, enjoys a great reputation in the community as one of the leading diamond consultants.

Donny’s Diamond Gallery received the Silver Medal Award by the Huntsville Times Reader’s Choice survey on being the best jewelry store. Donny is a member of Jewelers of America and Alabama Jewelers Association. Since opening his own store in summer of 1999, Donny has been a member of the Huntsville Chamber of Commerce as well as the Better Business Bureau of North Alabama.

Donny is also honored to be a board member of the National Children’s Advocacy Center and The Heritage Club.
